Free Boulevard

We always compare the invisible digital concept with the real space. A website is like a station. An Internet forum is a place,so as the folder,desktop,and firewall. However, this work shows the opposite way. The corridor of Taichung Shiyakusho(City Hall) became the digital avatar of a section in Taiwan Boulevard, showing the name of WIFI hotspots and cell sites,visualizing the fleeting Internet signals.Some of the WIFI identification is meaningless garbled,but some is interpretable showing the complex in digital space.

無線大道

我們總是以實際空間的類比，來捕捉無形無體，難以掌握的數位概念。網站好比一個車站，討論區是一個地方，檔案夾、桌面、防火牆則顧名思義。本作品則反向而行，尋找一條實體道路上的網路痕跡。市役所的走廊，成為台灣大道的數位分身，呈現的是中區從火車站到五權路的一段，沿路蒐集來所有無線網路的訊號與基地台名稱；一條疊加在實際空間上的虛擬大道，原本稍縱即逝的網路訊號凝著成為實體。無線網域的識別，有時是無意義亂碼，有時則能讀出命名的意義，體現出數位空間中相互疊加的繁複領域。
